Cold day. Temperatures barely bobbing above freezing all day. So the fire is lit and I’m just going to pop into the kitchen to prepare a nice warming supper.
The countdown to the festering season has started and my world is all lists. We have to make provision for a vegetarian as one of our guests for six days, but I’m getting better at that, and Christmas dinner will be Game pie (Or a reasonable facsimile thereof made from Duck breasts, Ham and Chicken bits wrapped in hot water pastry) and a quiche. Less effort and expense than a turkey, but will do hot or cold for boxing day lunch as well with pickles and a cheese board, plus a cheesecake for those who have worked up an appetite after a boxing day walking the grounds. The vegetarian will get a veggie and cheese quiche with roast vegetables. Which can also be eaten cold for boxing day lunch with pickles etc.
Now by way of an aside, Elon Musk has said to ‘Woke’ companies like Disney etc who threatened him with a loss of advertising if ‘X’ (the platform previously known as Twitter) does not ban non-woke voices. What a lovely sentiment. I must say Mr Musk is a constant source of amusement. He’s also dead right.
New movies and TV nowadays have been made unwatchable because of pressure from ‘Woke’ NGO’s like ‘Media Matters’ and the ‘Open Society Foundation’, not to mention those funded by the Rockefeller Foundation, to amplify those anti-western voices seeking to reduce us to the status of third class global citizens. It’s why many recent ‘woke’ movies have flopped. No one that I have ever met, of any race, creed or colour with an operating brain cell likes ‘woke’ content.
The ‘Woke’ can lobby to force through all the repressive laws they like, diddle around with every storyline on the planet, but it will only turn people against them more and more. Because no one really likes being told how to think or feel, or who they should love, like or dislike. Regardless of the culture into which they were born.
Wokeness is all the things it accuses other people of. It is poisonous, oppressive, fascistic, racist and sexist, as well as being “divisive, exclusionary and hateful.” I’m with him one hundred percent. We should tell all these ‘Woke’ people to “Have a very unhappy life, and by the way, go f#ck yourselves.” Because that seems to be what they want. And they are welcome to it.
Personally, I will be doing my best to enjoy this solsticetide. Because life is too short to be a wokeist arsehead.
